Food & Drink

With its proximity to the sea, and with local fishermen, farmers and butchers offering such an abundance of fresh produce, South Devon is the perfect holiday destination for the foodie! Enjoy an almost endless choice of restaurants, distilleries, farmer’s markets, and delis to sample the best the local area has to offer.

And Devon has no shortage of Food & Drink festivals throughout the year. Don’t miss the Salcombe Crab Festival (May) celebrating ‘all things seafood’, the sustainably-run Kingsbridge Food & Music Festival (June) and the Dartmouth Food Festival (October), described by the Guardian as one of the top 10 festivals in the UK.

Dolphin Inn

The Dolphin Inn is a beautiful 16th century olde worlde country pub. Being just a stones throw away from the Cottage it makes the perfect place to eat and meet the locals.

The Dolphin Inn serves a selection of home cooked meals using local produce and is family friendly!

The Oyster Shack

Caught, sourced and foraged from the surrounding area, and naturally they pride themselves on their seafood and shellfish. In particular we recommend their oysters which are the purest around following an extended two week purification process.

The Ship Inn

Enjoy good, fresh, homemade food, great beers and interesting wines, whilst surrounded by wooden floors, old furniture, log fires, bookcases and dozens of local pictures.

Journey's End

The Journey's End Inn is a 13th century free house in the village of Ringmore. Having four fires to enjoy in the winter months and with a main bar area there’s plenty of room for everyone in the family. This is our favourite place to eat nearby, we have been going there for years.
